To improve how drinks are served at events, we built an interface for Tapp's containers. Visitors operate the container through a touchscreen, and what happens on screen stays in sync with the dispensing itself.
Challenge
The interface had to scale to events of different sizes without losing speed. It also had to fit Tapp's existing infrastructure, scan codes and connect to the back end.
Approach
We built the interface with Electron and Raspberry Pi. Electron lets you build desktop applications with web technology, and the Raspberry Pi serves as the hardware for the touchscreen.
What it delivered
Visitors dispense drinks via the touchscreen and see their order status in real time. The interface scans QR codes and communicates with the back end, so the container runs as part of the Tapp platform.
