With the aim of enhancing the drink dispensing experience at events, the team embarked on creating a container interface. This interface would serve event visitors via a touchscreen, seamlessly synchronizing dispensing actions with the user experience.
Challenge
The container interface needed to be scalable to accommodate events of varying sizes without sacrificing performance. Additionally, seamless integration with the current infrastructure of the Tapp ecosystem was crucial, along with support for code scanning and a connection with the backend.
Approach
The development approach involved using Electron and Raspberry Pi technologies to create the container interface. Electron provided a framework for building cross-platform desktop applications using web technologies, while Raspberry Pi served as the hardware platform for the touchscreen interface.
Result
Event visitors could dispense drinks and view real-time order statuses via the touchscreen interface. The interface also supported QR code scanning, enabling seamless interaction with the backend system and enhancing the overall event experience.
