In pursuit of a seamless and efficient solution for managing orders during events, the Tapp team decided to develop a POS tablet. This tablet would serve as a user-friendly tool for bar staff while also enhancing customer interaction by displaying real-time order statuses.
Challenge
Firstly, the POS tablet needed to be scalable to handle peak moments during busy events without sacrificing performance. Another challenge was designing a multi-screen interface: one for bar staff to process orders and another for customers to view the status of their orders. Furthermore, the tablet needed to be capable of scanning QR codes generated for customer orders.
Approach
The development team opted for React Native due to its versatility and compatibility with various devices and platforms. SDK integration was essential to enable functionality for QR code scanning and communication with the backend. Thorough backend integration ensured that the POS tablet could seamlessly communicate with the existing systems of the Tapp ecosystem.
Result
The team successfully developed a fully functional POS tablet that could not only scan QR codes for order processing but also offered an intuitive interface for both bar staff and customers. The integration of the POS tablet into the Tapp ecosystem provided a seamless user experience during events.
