The Dutch housing market is currently tight, with high demand and limited supply. Woonbot.nl was developed to help navigate this scarcity through a smart AI assistant that guides home seekers in finding the right property. Instead of endlessly scrolling through housing websites, users can now simply share their housing preferences in plain Dutch and instantly receive property suggestions that match their needs.
Challenges
The biggest technical challenge was developing a scalable scraping system capable of consistently collecting data from various real estate websites. Each site has its own structure, formatting, and update frequency, making it difficult to extract reliable data. Additionally, the AI needed to consistently interpret this varied data — from price formats to location indicators — and translate it into useful information for users. Creating a system that could process thousands of property listings per day without compromising quality was critical to the platform’s success.
